We have very special news. Alexander Street is giving away 50 subscriptions to American History in Video—one in every state!
This is in part our response to the economic downturn—a way to support libraries facing budget cuts. It’s also a way for us to learn more, because—and here’s the bonus—for the year of this free subscription, we will work with the 50 libraries in a true collaboration to build patron awareness. Together, we'll gather solid, actionable knowledge about what works when libraries and publishers work together to drive usage.
We’re calling it the 50-State Advisory Group, and we will offer all the marketing support we can muster. What we will ask in return is that you give us a few minutes of your input three times during the year. We’ll ask you to be thoughtful and specific. We want to know what you need, in your library to get the word out about the wealth of online resources you have to offer your patrons. And we’ll publish the knowledge that you help us gather so that we all benefit, as a community.
So it’s not just a free lunch—it’s a chance to accomplish something together. And American History in Video is a wonderful online collection to give your patrons—one that helps you transition your library to new technologies and one of our most popular collections ever, with thousands of hours of video—newsreels, documentaries from The History Channel and PBS, and other sources.
Apply now through the 4th of July for a free, one-year subscription to American History in Video.
If chosen, you agree to give us 15 minutes of feedback three times in the year ahead.
The terms of Alexander Street's Standard License Agreement apply.
We'll contact all 50 libraries prior to ALA and post the names on our Web Site. We'll also be hosting a special event for the 50-State Advisory Group at ALA, so stay tuned!
Sincerely,
Eileen Lawrence
